RIP Christopher Lee

1922 - 2015

Terrible news to wake up and go to work to as I have heard about the sad passing about one of the legendary actors in movies, Christopher Lee of respiratory and heart problems at the age of 93. Many of you older fans may know him as Hammer's Dracula or the bad guy in the James Bond film The Man With The Golden Gun and many of you younger fans will know him as Count Dooku in the Star Wars Prequels or as Saruman in the Lord of the Rings and Hobbit Trilogies. But bottom line for Christopher Lee was that no matter what he was in) he left an ever-lasting impression. He has been knighted by the queen, was a war hero in World War 2, and he has been honored by so many that to even mention them all would be impossible. I would like to leave this quote from him that best summarizes my feelings on actors in Monster Crap.

"Every actor has to make terrible films from time to time, but the trick is never to be terrible in them."

And that is what separates the great actors from the good actors. No matter what god awful movie you are in and dear lord, you know if you are acting, you will be in one (and hell, might be embarrassed by), don't be a reason that the movie sucks. And speaking of being in crap, I guess I have to mention the film that Christopher Lee was in that got inducted into Monster Crap.

Yes, He Was In The Hilariously Bad Howling II: Your Sister Is A Werewolf.

And even as Christopher Lee apologized to Joe Dante (director of the original Howling) on the set of Gremlins 2 for being in this film, I cannot deny that Christopher Lee owned the hell out of that role.

Being The Old Man At A Club Normally Frequented By Rebellious Youth....Like A Boss!!!

So while you are now at the pearly gates of heaven, just know that not only will your wife and family miss you, but so will every horror/sci-fi/fantasy fan out there also miss you. You will be missed.
