RIP Sid Haig

Sidhaig.PNG
1939 - 2019

As many of you may know, we were bombarded with the sad news that after a few days of hearing that Sid Haig went to the hospital that suddenly, Mr. Haig passed away at the age of 80. The man is a huge star in the world of cult and horror cinema, having started with small roles as a goon in many TV series for his unique look, having to retire because he felt he was typecast (not exactly without merit for him to feel that way), worked as a hypnotherapist for five years, came back to acting thanks to the prodding of several friends like Quentin Tarantino, and ending up getting roles that people would remember like Captain Spaulding. A great story that I'm surprised there never was a documentary of the guy. And from what I have heard from people, the man was always humble about his success late in life so it is truly sad to hear that he is no longer with us.

One of the greatest regrets Monster Crap has had with Sid Haig is that we never really got a chance to induct a film Sid Haig was in into this fun site. Well, that will all change because despite me usually saving special memorial inductions for October and we already are doing that for Rutger Hauer. We will be doing a special memorial induction for Sid Haig this December. Sid Haig, you will certainly be missed here in Monster Crap.
