RIP Tim Curry

1946 - 2026

Monster Crap is beyond devastated that Tim Curry has passed away at the age of 80. Tim Curry was my favorite actor of all time because as the old saying goes "If a movie he was rated with one star, he was the reason for that one star". In fact, you may know (or not know) that the reason I went to my first horror convention was because Tim Curry was originally going to be there and a week after I got the tickets and hotel room booked, he sadly had to cancel his appearance (and this was 2 years before he had his stroke that left him in a wheel chair for the rest of his life). I've read his autobiography and have the audiobook that he narrated last year.

You may remember him for films like The Rocky Horror Picture Show, Annie, Legend, Clue, the It miniseries, Ferngully, Home Alone 2, The Three Musketeers (1993 version), and Muppets Treasure Island (among other films), for shows like Peter Pan & The Pirates and The Wild Thornberrys (and so much more), and theater play work like The Rocky Horror Picture Show, Amadeus, My Favorite Year, Spamalot, and The Pirates Of Penzance. But we here at Monster Crap will remember him because he was Herkemer Homolka in Congo.

Here He Is, Eating Captain Wanta's Sesame Cake And He Really Needs To Stop.

The world is a whole lot less fun without Tim Curry to brighten things up (and considering he died in between when Dolly Parton died and when Peter Cullen died, this week has truly been terrible). He will be sorely missed.
