The Final (For Now) Impact Implosion Covers IMPACT Homecoming

Sad to see it end for now, but despite Impact saying during the ppv that they would be on Twitch in a simulcast, we decided that once we decided this was going to be the end (for now), we are not going to be like Impact and keep ourselves around like a cockroach. Unfortunately, this ppv was only just decent with the last two matches having horrible finishes. But the tag title match was freaking great and the Ultimate X Match was good as well.

The Second to Last Impact Implosion Episode Ever!

It wasn't an easy decision to make. Unfortunately, the lack of being able to watch this show live by both Mike and myself, made this the only real decision to make in this situation. It's sad as we really wanted to keep doing this. While this would normally have been the last show since next week would be the first on Pursuit, however we have decided you deserve one more episode which will be this Sunday as we will review Homecoming before bidding adieu. And also lucky we made that call as this is not the episode of any kind to end our more than 6 year run as it really is just a whimper.

Impact Implosion 12/20

Oddly enough despite the subtitle of this show, we did not learn until hours later that Impact found a new home with Pursuit. Sadly because neither Mike nor myself have that channel on our cable boxes so the best we could do is watch an On Demand version which may be on their Roku channel. That sadly means that Impact Implosion as we know is in some bit of jeopardy of continuing as we will have until the Homecoming ppv to figure something out. 

Now onto the episode as this is actually a make-up for no show last week since this week's show really was a Best Of show so we dont need to cover it. And honestly, it's too bad as we had to do a make-up for this show as the show last week was good, almost getting an A until the last two matches and the segment in between those two matches happened. We had a great Fenix vs. Santana match and two good Ultimate X Qualifying Matches. We also had some fun segments including one with Raven as he was still in that mental institution.

Impact Implosion 12/06 - More Vegas Shenanigans

It's a double header show (well, technically a triple header, but the Thanksgiving show was just one match so we didn't go very far with it). While the Impact last week was satisfactory, the Impact from Thursday was actually a good show, although my co-host disagreed with me (although to be fair, the crowd being flat hurt his opinion which probably should have hurt mine, but it did not). We had some more fun with Fallah Baah and KM, more smoking with the Rascals, some good action. On the downside, we had for both shows more Dreamer's issues with "skinny jean millennials", a return of a certain Knockout who I was not a fan of at the end, and more freaking Desi Hit Squad. There is more of course and some news as well.

Impact Implosion 11/15 - The Latest Impact Wrestling News!

And this was a bad show that I gave a D to. Dear god....that Tommy Dreamer millennials rant was so goddamn stupid (yes, even worse than the Ronda Rousey one) where he talked about lucha libre and skinny jeans and.....I had to do the Billy Madison insult. May God have mercy on that man's soul. They also decided to punk out the guy who was getting cheers........just because he was a heel. Oh and the new Option C rule of being able to cash it in at anytime.......confusing.

Impact Implosion 11/08 - The Fourth Show After Bound For Glory

It's Zero Hour and the last show of these NYC shows. This was an okay show, although I felt the show before it was better. I guess I was a little bit not feeling doing a show that late and I was kinda hating the show being late, although I really have more issues with Pop for that one. In fact, the backstage hearing that Impact was looking for a new network......I would not honestly blame them for wanting out of Pop TV.

Impact Implosion 10/25 - The Second Show After Bound For Glory

Man, I was so busy with other things in my life that I forgot to post this show, which is my bad. This is the first show of the new 10 pm time slot and you all may know this show did really bad as far as viewership goes. And as far as the show, it wasnt that good so the poor viewership is deserved for this not really caring show. I mean other than the main, this was not good and yes, we had a match with Rohit Raju taking on an old ass Gama Singh.

Impact Implosion 10/18 - The First Show After Bound For Glory

Well, I kept my promise and did not watch Bound For Glory (although I did see that Undead Realm segment (DUMB)). I apparently missed a decent show, but I don't care. as they didn't make the hype worth my money. However, I did watch this week's Impact (The last of the 8pm shows on Pop TV as they are now moving to 10 pm starting next week) and it was a good show. In fact, I gave the show a B with a really fun main event.

This week's show was harmless, but nothing special so I gave this episode a C. I guess something happened with the site because this week, I will only be able to link to the YouTube video instead of the actual site. Other than that, there really isn't much to say other than that.

Impact Implosion 9/20 - Austin Aries vs. El Texano~!!

Man, I really need to get on these in a better time. I enjoyed this show so I gave it a B with a solid opener and a really good tag match between the Lucha Brothers and the team of Matt Sydal & Rich Swann. We had another fun music video by Joe Hendry and the only negative I can say is the main event was meh.

Impact Implosion 9/13 - Austin Aries vs. Fallah Bahh!

Well, another episode of Impact that might have gotten a B or a high C if not for that whole LAX-OGz segment of a man wishing the run over kid had died (f*** this feud) and the Aries-Baah match not being even partially up to snuff in any way. On the plus side, we had a decent Cage vs. Cat match (even though their last one was better), a hilarious Joe Hendry video, and a fun Lucha Brothers vs. Cult of Lee match.

Impact Implosion 9/06 - Tessa Blanchard vs. Su Yung!!

I really have to apologize for my performance on tonight's Impact Implosion. Despite my opinion of this episode itself (it wasn't good), this episode itself was not the reason for my terrible performance. I had actually taken a bite of something that tasted like paint thinner and learned the food I hate tasted had expired by several years. I was so busy getting the taste out of my mouth via soda and water that I was not 100% mentally ready to do the show (only learning that I was not really ready while the show was taping). Despite my bad performance, I do hope you still listen, but will understand if you do not.

Impact Implosion 8/30 - Impact Wrestling Gets REDEFINED

Cannot believe I was 2 weeks late getting this show up and posting this the same day as last week's show, but there were some personal things that happened (that I will not go into details about) that made me forget to do so. Of course, this was a show that I was drinking alcohol on because one of the two shows that I covered on this show got an F. The truly horrendous thing I saw was the running over of a kid (something that not even the Attitude Era would have the nerve to do) and it was to sell an angle for a match at Bound For Glory. There also was a show that was supposed to be their special Impact that wasnt so special.

Impact Implosion 8/16/18 - LAX and OGz Continue to FIGHT!!

Really got to get these on time again because I really late with this. Good news is I did not do a show this week and next week's show will be a doubleheader. This was once again a good show where I gave a B too. Again, the Lucha Brothers stole the show with Fenix beating Sami Callihan although we had a good street fight. Scarlett was able to keep the KM and Fallah Baah team together and Joe Hendry had another funny music video (despite losing the actual match thanks to the stupidity of one Grado). That and more...

Impact Implosion 8/09 - "C" Is NOT For Cookie This Week

It's that time of year where despite Impact's efforts, they will get their asses handed on a silver platter by the NFL. The only solace I can take is this week was not as good as the previous two weeks. Aries now has a non-sensical alliance with Killer Kross, the Lucha Underground stars still have the best matches, we had an LAX-OGz fight through the Rebel Complex that could was dangerous at points, and the Desi Hit Squad getting their first loss as a team.

Impact Implosion 8/02 - Fallout From Slammiversary 2018 Continues!

Well, the string of good shows continue although I will admit this show is a little bit not as good as last week. We had plenty of beatdowns and a great main event with the Crist Brothers vs. the Lucha Brothers. We also talk about Madison Rayne being in the Mae Young Classic (this was recorded a day before they revealed Sienna was also in the tournament so I will get to that this upcoming show).

Impact Implosion 7/19 - Final Shows Before Slammiversary 2018

This show almost didn't happen because on that day, I woke up to have issues with my balance so much that I was unable to go to work that day. However, after some sleep, I got a lot better and was able to head home to watch Impact as well as last week (with some horrible audio). This is the go-home shows to Slammiversary and unfortunately, they were both ruined to Cs thanks to the horrible way they decided to promote Su Yung vs. Madison Rayne. We'll talk about some good stuff like the six man tag from two weeks ago and Killer Kross continuing to be awesome (they even tweaked him for the better). There is more, but..

Impact Implosion 7/05 - The Old LAX Is Back!

Good news everyone, this was not a show worthy of a D or F. And you get to hear me screw up what month it is...

However, that may be just as bittersweet for you as it was for me as ultimately a dumb decision made me sadly give the show a C when I was going to give it a B. That dumb decision: bringing back Hernandez. If you followed this show long enough, you might remember the last time Hernandez was here, he caused this promotion to have a huge tiff since while he said his Lucha Underground contract expired, it turns out that it didnt really expire until all the episodes that he was on, aired. So because of this freaking nonsense, we had to cut out months of planned segments which eventually led to Kenny King and MVP leaving Impact. It was not a good time and I basically said I didnt want his ass back. Well, he is now and I have to deal with it. 

But that wasnt the only issue I had with the final segment that led with King being the one who took down Konnan and reformed the old LAX to face Konnan and the LAX that we have known for the last week. Konnan said he had proof and that proof turned out to be an accusation and all he had to do was annoy King enough to where he fesses up to the whole thing. Also when this all started, King was #3 in the LAX hierarchy with Konnan being #1 and Homicide being #2. Since Homicide basically is part of the old LAX, it was sure nice of him to basically take a demotion to run with King. 

There was also a bad Knockouts Tag Match that was basically ruined by the ending where a ref was way out of position for a bump. 

However, I want to preface that this show was actually good. We had a great opener between Rich Swann and Fenix. We had the mistake that was undone  with KM and Fallah Baah getting back together. Killer Kross did impress in his debut as a monster despite two small issues I had. We had Austin Aries cut another great promo on Moose. 

And finally, I cant believe I am saying this: We had a good Kongo Cat match. Yes, Kongo Cat had a really good match with Brian Cage. I was surprised by the lengths these two went to including Kong Cat performing a HURRICARANA!!!! Yes, that happened. 

The fact that I am talking about this show this much should basically tell you that I liked this episode of Impact and really am saddened by having to give it a C. But I think I have talked too much now.
